Third-Party Events

Do you have creative ideas for raising money for the Assaulted Women's Helpline? Are you able to run a special event or donate goods or services that help us raise awareness of AWHL for women across the province? Why not hold an event on our behalf?

Holding a third party event is a great way to support the Helpline, while getting your friends, family, school, community or workplace involved in something fun and rewarding.

No matter how grand or simple the event, your efforts will make a lasting difference.

Not sure how to get started? We are always available to provide you advice and expertise to make sure your event is a success.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please contact us at (416) 364-4144 x236 to discuss your proposed idea, our event terms and conditions, and complete our third party event proposal form.

Here are some examples of the fundraising projects that you can carry out successfully:

  • Sporting tournament - e.g. golf, basketball, hockey, etc.
  • Host a party --- e.g. movie night, costume party, dinner party, afternoon tea party
  • Art auction, bake sale, clothing sale, garage sale, fashion show, book sale, car wash, chocolate tasting party, dress down day, read-a-thon, twister-a-thon, shoe-shining
  • Host an event at your school or work place --- raise a certain amount to get your co-worker, supervisor, teacher, or principal to shave or dye their hair

Important guidelines to remember:

  • Net funds must be submitted no later than 30 days after the event.
  • We will not assume any legal or financial liability associated with third party events and we will not be held responsible for any damages or accidents.
  • We must approve the use of our name and/or logo on any materials.
  • We are more than happy to provide promotional materials for your event, such as, posters, pamphlets, and our Public Service Announcement DVD (for a small nominal fee).
  • All tax receipt issues must be discussed with the Assaulted Women's Helpline prior to the event and will be issued in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency's regulations.
  • We cannot issue tax receipts for donated services (example: advertising, construction, entertainment, etc).

After holding your great event, be sure to take photos and submit them to us so we can properly recognize your hard work on our website and in our newsletter.

Need more information or assistance? Please feel free to contact us.

We really appreciate your support and hope your event is a great success!
